Bridging the human divide

Ericsson runs a comprehensive sponsorship program focused on developing communication between people. We believe in close personal relations and use sponsorship as a tool for building partnerships.

The sponsorship program is an extension of our core values – Respect, Professionalism and Perseverance – and is designed to contribute to growth in the communities in which we operate. Its objective is to bring people and cultures closer, to create an understanding and acceptance of differences and to erase social prejudice.

We are keen on supporting social activities that share our vision of a world in which everyone feel emotionally and physically secure. And because we believe in universal access and that everyone has the right to communicate with anyone at anytime, our corporate social activities include solutions that make communication affordable and accessible for all. They also embrace initiatives that support the use of telecommunication in social and environmental contexts.

Paralympics

The Swedish National Association of Sports for the Disabled organizes sports for people with various disabilities. The association was founded in 1969 and includes 450 clubs and 40,000 members of whom about 25,000 are active in sports. The Paralympics is the disabled sports association's equivalent of the Olympic Games and draws almost 4,000 disabled athletes from around the world.

LME House of Birth

Birthplace of Lars Magnus Ericsson. Lars Magnus Ericsson, the founder of our company, was born on May 5, 1846, on a small farm in Varmskog in the middle of Sweden. Ericsson was a frail child and soon discovered that he had neither the disposition nor strength for farm work. At the age of 21 he traveled to Stockholm and took the first major step toward a career that would establish him as one of Sweden's industrial giants.
