A comprehensive overview of the latest technology developments, this monograph focuses on the fundamentals of mobile communications technology and systems. It includes two chapters, “Evolution of the WCDMA Radio Access Technology” and “Evolved UTRA Technologies,” that were co-authored by Ericsson radio access technologies expert Erik Dahlman.
Ericsson experts contributed the chapter “WCDMA Radio Access Technology for Third-Generation Mobile Communication” in this compilation of the best recent articles from the foremost IEEE publications. This book features current and future developments in wireless technology, including wireless standards, radio channel propagation, modulations and coding issues pertinent to the physical layer and spatial and temporal signal processing.
Ericsson radio access technologies expert Erik Dahlman co-wrote the chapter “3G Evolution and Future-Generation Air Interface in Mobile Communications” in this triennial summation of the state of the art in radio science, prepared by the International Union of Radio Science. This volume consists of 38 original, peer-reviewed papers.
Fredrik Athley of Ericsson contributed three articles for this collection of important papers dealing with the theory and application of Bayesian bounds. The book is essential to both engineers and statisticians whether they are practitioners or theorists. Each part is introduced with the contributions of each selected paper and their interrelationship.
Ericsson senior research engineer Fredrik Athley contributed to this volume covering methodological and theoretical advances over the last 20 years in high-resolution and robust signal processing. Applications-grounded, this sophisticated resource links theoretical background with high-resolution methods used in wireless communications, brain signal analysis, and space-time radar signal processing.
Kumar Balachandran and Rajaram Ramesh co-authored the chapter, “Wireless Network Deployments” in this volume. Part one of the book is an overview of systems design and engineering integration, comparison of polarization and space diversity antenna systems, and the performance of deploying smart antenna architectures in cellular and PCS networks. The second part addresses deployment of CDMA networks, based on IS-95 standards.
